The following was submitted by Edwin Mansour:

Charles Andrew Hafner-sculptor, painter teacher
Born October 28 1888,Omaha NE,died July 29 1960 in NY.

He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and Beaux Arts in Paris. In 1925, he was named instructor at the New York Evening Industrial School, and he also served as director of adult art classes of the University of the State of New York in 1933.

His work won the bronze medal at the Olympiade Art Exhibition in the Netherlands in 1928. His designs have been shown at exhibitions of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, at the Architectural League of New York, the Brooklyn Museum and the Albright and Reinhardt Galleries.

Mr. Hafner was founder of the American Veterans Society of Artists,Inc. He is well known for his busts of Thomas A. Edison, Daniel Carter Beard, Maude Adams, and Richard Strauss. His "Peter Pan" was done for a fountain in the lobby of the Paramount Theatre in NY. He also created medals and plaques.
