| | Born in Vermont in 1828. Langdon sailed around the Horn to California in 1849. He mined near Ophir for awhile and then worked in San Francisco as an artist for lithographers. By the 1860s he had a farm in Humboldt County where he remained until his demise on Dec. 30, 1907.
