|  Born in Marion, North Dakota, he became an abstract painter of western subject matter, especially rodeos, where he tries to capture on canvas the action and energy of the horses and riders. One of his series is called "The Sweetheart of the Rodeo," and has gone through many technical and stylistic changes. It is dedicated to the bucking horse, the real "sweetheart" of the rodeo. |
