This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| The following is from Artbrokering.com:
A Los Angeles artist who obtained his MFA in 1973, Bruce Richards is widely known and respected for his masterful draftsmanship and formal sense of composition. His meticulous paintings, watercolors and prints are rich with wit and symbolism. He has had numerous one-person museum, gallery shows and group exhibitions. His works are in the collections of the Los Angeles Museum of Art, SFMOMA, the Grunwald Center for Graphic Arts,UCLA, and SDMOCA.
Witness is a five color lithograph that further explores Richards "Courtship" series of paintings in which he questions how one chooses a particular not card, for perhaps a love letter, and how the image may convey a certain sentiment or echo the sentiment found within the card.
