California landscape painter Martha Saudek began painting in 1980 after retiring from a career in teaching. She took courses at UCLA and studied with Hal Reed for four years.
After a gallery approached her, Saudek began advertising her work and collectors took note. She has a painting in the permanent collection of Petrospavlovsk Museum in Russia.
Saudek has won numerous awards including the Region 3 Award in the Arts for the Parks competition in 2001.
