| Born in Perth, Kansas and growing up in Kay County, Oklahoma, Via
Walling Draper became a painter in the West, doing Arizona seasonal desert
landscapes, mining scenes, Taos scenes, and marine and landscape
paintings in La Jolla and Laguna Beach, California. She studied at
University Prep School in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, and in 1913, enrolled at
the University of Kansas at Lawrence, where she graduated in 1917 with
a major in biology and a minor in art. That year, she married Willia (showing 500 of 2256 characters). |
