Dorothea Dreier, Katherine Dreiers sister, was a post-impressionist painter.
She was the daughter of Dorothea Adelheid and John Caspar Theodor Dreier, both immigrants who had come from Bremen, Germany in 1849. Theodor settled in New York and eventually became a partner in an important iron company. Their daughter Dorothea was one of five children.

None of the children were allowed to go to college, but Dorothea studied art with Walter Shirlaw, as did her artist sister, Katherine. The (showing 500 of 868 characters).
