Painter and stain glass designer, Frederic A Chapman was born in
Connecticut in 1818. By August of 1850 he was in New York City and
eventually settled in Brooklyn where he stayed until 1860. Around
1850, he painted historical scenes of Boston and exhibited them.
He
received recognition in the 1860s for a series of Civil War
