| Cartoonist. Born in San Francisco, CA on April 29, 1877. "Tad Dorgan showed great talent as an artist while at Polytechnic High School. His teacher at that school was Maria Van Vieck. A childhood accident removed three fingers on his right hand and his hopes for becoming a boxer. For manual therapy, he took up line illustration which soon led him to becoming one of the most widely read, left-handed newspaper artists in the U.S. He began his career with the San Francisco Bulletin at age 14 a (showing 500 of 848 characters). |
