Born in England on November 16, 1887, Frederick Chisnall, as a young man
immigrated to Canada where he was an engraver for Eatons. In 1920
he moved to Los Angeles and continued as an engraver for the Times.
During this period he studied at the Art Institute of Chicago.
About 1930 he settled in Rancho Mirage near Palm Springs where he
established a gallery in his home.
Chisnall was a familiar sight on the deserts of Arizona and Nevada, and
