| Born in Ratisbon, Bavaria on April 6, 1809. At age 19 Vischer immigrated to Mexico where he was the American Consul in Acapulco and was affiliated with a trading company in Mexico City. He came to San Francisco in 1842 as an agent for the Mexican firm and returned to live there in 1849. After establishing a prosperous import business, he built a unique home on Nob Hill at Pine and Stockton. Covering several acres, it was a replica of a charming Bavarian village consisting of four cottages w (showing 500 of 1375 characters). |
