unsigned o/c attributed to HB Brown signature? value?
I'm new to ask art.
I have a painting attributed to HB Brown. It looks very similar to his work titled "Along the River, Andover Maine" but is not the same painting.
It is painted on a rectangle canvas but the art is within an oval. The frame is gold and fits exactly to the oval's edge.
Questions: Did he ever not sign a piece of his art? Is there a place on the internet I can find a close up of his signature? Maybe I'm missing seeing his signature or initials?
The frame recently came apart from the canvas. It appeared to be attached with some sort of adhesive. The frame only covered the front. I would like to reguild the frame since it is off and reattach. What should I reattach it with?
Lastly, how much might it be worth?
