I have two prints I think are by C.F. Underwood.Took back off on each.Was cards attached one was, Girl and Cats Other was Boy and Dog.Does anyone know if he done prints by those names.My prints are not of animals.I think they may be his wife and daughter.One is of a very pretty lady and girl in a hammock with flowers all around.The other is same girl and three friends having tea party outside.They are 22x18 approx.Any info on these will be great.

Information on Clarence Underwood
I have been researching Clarence F. Underwood for a while now. He is my Great Grandfather. In answer to Mary Barrow, Clarence lived most of his adult life in NYC. He died there of a Cerebral Hemorrhage according to the death Certificate. His early art years were spent in Paris, and London, returning to the US around 1901-1902.

Would like more info on Clarence Underwood
I first got i know Mr. Underwood's work as the illustrations to Booth Tarkington novels, when I read them as a teenager in the 1960's. I own a water-damaged pencil-signed copy of the calendar illustration "Love Me, Love My Donkey" that a friend found for me at the local resale shop. I would love to know anything about the artist beyond the very brief bio on this site. 58 seems (to me!) a very young age to die - do we know why or how? Where did he live and work?

I am In possession of a picture that appears to be a sketch and not a copy, of a U.S. Marine (I assume) in a tropical setting sitting on a box reading a wedding invitation and in the background is an image of the gal walking down the aisle with her father. does this picture seem to be familiar to anyone
