Ida Mae Stone & husband Harry Clayton
A book titled "Sketches" by Ida Mae Stone and Harry Clayton. was published on the occasion of Johannesbrug's ninetieth birthday and it contains many of their sketches of the early South Africa area where they lived. The front section of this book has several pages of Biographical Notes telling about Ida & Harry and their family. I suggest you try to get hold of a copy of this book to compare to your painting.

1891 Ida Jones Painting
I have a painting of large clump of trees in a feild,next to a lake/river with small houses in the background and 2 people wandering down a path toward the houses, some hills/mountains also in background, it is dark and mostley in brown and yellow tones. I would appreciate any info. Is it the above artist, did she sign paintings not using Stone, in her signature?
