Painting or Print
I found a painting in a thrift store. It is about 2 feet wide. It is signed john hare. It is a dock and tall ship kind of a picture. It is very old with a old frame. I don't know if it is painting or a print. It feels like a painting. How can you tell the difference. It has the brown paper back. with little nails holding it. Thank you
John Hare Watercolor
I have a painting that was given to me twenty years ago. The back of the frame is printed in capital letters Sunlit Canal John Hare. It is signed on the front. Any information about this would be appreciated. I know it is from the 40's or 50's. Thanks.
I have two watercolor paintings by John C. Hare. One is titled "Early Spanish House, St. Augustine, Florida," and the other looks like the mountains of Switzerland with a church in the scene. The St. Augustine painting has his Brooklyn address on the back of the mat. Any info would be appreciated.

I have an oil painting of yellow flowers in a vase signed by John Hare. Could anyone give any type of information about his oil paintings? I would love to find some history on this painting.

John Hare's "Gloucester Fishing Dock"
I'm looking for a lithograph of John Hare's Gloucester Fishing Dock. My parents used to have it hanging in their living room. We no longer have it.
I found a photo of the painting on eBay and bought it.
Is it available in lithograph? If you answer me, please title your answer: Old gloucester painting.

John Hare Waterccolor Paintings
I inherited 3 John Hare watercolors of different sizes from my parents. They are all scenes of boats along the Mass. coast. I would like to know more about the artist and the values of some of his paintings. These are professionally framed and sealed with brown paper on the back, but I know they are originals because my parents purchased them when they lived in the Boston area and told me. They are signed. Any information would be appreciated, including where to contact for more information. Thank you

I have a framed print titled Indian Summer by John Hare. Handwritten on the back is "from the boys, Dec. 25, 1944". The print was published by Artistic Publishing Co. of NY. Does anyone have any information regarding this picture?
Cecelia Ann Patton
Watercolor by John Hare
My Mother has had two rural watercolors in the family since about 1950. Where would I be able to find out more about them?
Thank you, C. A. Patton
We have a painting of what appears to be a Spanish or Italian setting which could be Venice. It depicts buildings with a river and a bridge crossing with a man and a cart. This picture has been in the family for many years and only now are we interested in its history. After looking very closly at the artist signature and going on line to view some of his other works did we realize that it is a known artist.
Please help us determine what the name of this painting is and the year.
Thanking you in advance.
John Cuthbert Hare
My husband and I met John Hare in his studio
on Cape Cod in the '60s.
We greatly admired his artwork.
We have never heard of him since or his work. I thought he would become recognized some day for his excellent work.
What do you know about him and his art work?
