Jess Hobby My parents were friends of the Hobby's, and when Jess died, his wife gave them each a painting from his collection. I have a painting he did with a spanish theme. I was told it was done when Jess went on vacation in Texas, and he painted an outdoor mexican marketplace. The frame has what appears to be hand carved artwork that we believe Jess carved. Anyone who replies to this e-mail MUST respond to my spam protector request, or I will not receive your mail.

Jess Hobby Jess Hobby was a skilled craftsman who hand carved many of his own impressionistic frames which rank among the highest of any American Frame makers. He was also a member of the All Illinois Society of Fine Art. I have a 1932 catalog were he was an art jurer for that exhibition.
