07/11/2000 Harrie Grondijs
biographical Ruth Armer, 1896-1977, is a well known modernist painter who worked at the California School of Fine Arts with Clyfford Still, Mark Rothko and Richard Diebenkorn. She showed in many, many west Coast Galleries and Museums. Her career is well documented. Her post-war non-objective work is pictured in Susan Landauer's book on the SF School of Abstract Expressionism. She is listed in Thomas Albright's book on Art in the SF Bay area 945-1980. And she is listed in Edan Hughes' Artists in California 1786-1940'.
