signed prints I have Broussard's Barber Shop, a signed and numbered print. I bought it under the name of Marjorie Lambert about 1978, directly from the artist (over the phone). At the time, Rodrigue said he was involved in a construction project: jacking up his studio to build more room beneath it. When I told him which print I wanted, he laughed and said,to wit: "I been getting $40 for those but so many people want them that I'll have to charge you a $150." He was also amazed that someone in Seattle knew about his work. I believe I still have the mailing tube and the canceled check or M.O. My cardiologist, Dr. John Holder, and he were frends from school. Holder's office was filled with prints that Rodrigue had given him as gifts. Holder was surprised that Rodrigue had charged me so much for the print that he gave me a signed poster from Rodrigue's Paris Exhibit to make up for it. MG
