Have 3 original works of Margaret Keanes from my mother in law
I can send pics to a noted art expert. Where please. When was Margaret in Connecticut or had family here perhaps her Mom?
I have seen sellers of Margarets work is it real?
There seems to be much of Margaret's beautiful work for sale on line......I do wonder about authenticity. I love her work and have my own artwork that involves big eyes, I also sing and design clothes. ( apparently my own eyes are huge!). I love the way she captures expression through the windows of our soul and I have to have one of her paintings. She has such a beautiful gift and a humble approach.
Expert for a Keane paintings
I have seen multiple posts requesting information on authenticity and value of Keane paintings. I suggest the posters contact Robert Brown, Director of the Keane Eyes Gallery in San Francisco. He is probably the foremost expert on Keane, but he will need several photographs of your artwork. He can be located if you google Keane Eyes Gallery, and he is happy to assist. Mark

Are the Blythe Dolls created from the Keane paintings ?
I have 2 framed black and white postcards signed Keane but autographed by Walter Keane? Am curious about these pieces and would appreciate any input I can get. They are kind of "ugly". Although some of the paintings and prints are quite beautiful...these pieces are, well, "different. Thanks, Julia of Roseville, CA.

M.KEANE GIRL IN YELLOW DRESS 1963
I bought a little pic in an antique store in San Fran of a little girl in a yellow dress sitting amongst flowers. She has brown hair and a white slip peeks out from her dress. It is signes MDH Keane with Keane 1963 under that. Could someone give me any info on this? I don't know if it original, but it appears to be oil.
My fiance and I went to this flea market type place yesterday and bought something that looks like a framed print . It says "Keane" in the lower left hand corner 1962. It is called "The Lookout" and it has a little girl peeking around the corner of a door with a small black kitten at her feet. It looks like they are on a beach or lake shore. I can't find any info on this particular thing. Any info on it would be appreciated. It has a price of 55 or 44$ on the back of the print as well.
I have a picture of a man and a young girl that are dressed up as clowns. In the top left corner it says "KEANE"
the girl has exagerated eyes. im pretty sure its an original anyone know of this one? the girl is to the left of the man and he has his arm around her shoulder
Some of the prints I own are from the 1960's and they have Walter Keane's name printed on them. I know the story about the court thing. Still, there you are, someone gave him permission to print his name on the prints. In any event, they are old prints and beautiful. I still have the original Keane prints from my childhood. The rest of the collection I have been slowly building by buying them on ebay.
Walter (but really Maragaret) Keane
The world famous "Big Eye" paintings had their beginning in San Francisco over 50 years ago, by the artist Margaret Keane. In time they also became known and referred to as "Waifs," "Keane," "Sad Eyes," and many other titles, all depicting the unique styles of this very creative woman. You may be surprised to hear the artist is a woman. You see, for many years she was married to a man who claimed credit for what she painted. To prove she was in fact the artist and not her former husband, she painted in court before a Federal Judge and jury, an original oil on canvas painting. When her ex-husband was asked to paint by the judge, his reply was: "I can't today, because I have a sore shoulder." Needless to say Margaret won the case and she continues to paint those Big Eyes we have come to love so dearly
ORIGINAL OR NOT?

I believe she signs her paintings a MDH Keane. Her husband was Walter. He apparently had claimed to be the painter of the early work of hers. A court case settled that claim as false.
I thought Walter Keane was her husband not William. Ihave two pictures one is the stray the other is no dogs allowed .there both signed Keane on the bottom of the pictures says by Walter Keane. Are these her pictures.Any help would be helpful. thank you.
