J.R. Willis Appalachian Watercolor
Okay, I certainly have a watercolor painting of a TN scene with Grandfather Mountain in the background (labeled by the artist by the signature) that certainly looks like J.R. Willis signature. Anyone have any idea if J.R painted any in the Appalachain Mtns? If he was born in GA, if I have that correct, it seems possible.

J. R. Willis
We own a painting by J. R. Wilis did of Camelback Mountain in the mid-50's. We bought it in Taos, NM several years ago. Since we live in Phoenix, we figured it belonged back here. We paid $5000 for it; from my research probably more than it was worth but we like it.

Paintings
I recently found out that J.R. Willis was my great great uncle. Does anyone know of a place I can go online to view all of his work and maybe even find out what Universal Studio backdrops he painted? I want to find out more information.

I met JR when I was 12yrs and I now am an atist also, because of his enco
He allowed me to use his studio, and his wife was just as sweet to me, and he gave me a pencil sketch, and an oil sketch, that he was going to do a big paintin of me but we movedto Montana and when ever we came back to Albuquerque I would go visit them.they wanted to take me to their sugar plantation in Cuba but my mom would not let me go.

JR Willis Painting
I am the owner of a JR Willis painting entitled "Spanish Broom". JR Willis is my great uncle- brother to my grandfather Fred Willis Sr. My painting has been in our family for as long as we can remember. Our family would like to hear from anyone who knows about him or his artwork.

Thanks,
Thomas Willis

JR Willis painting
I also have a painting by JR Willis. It was given to my grandparents many years ago. JR and mt grandparents were friends back in Gallup NM. And for all the help my grandfather gave him JR gave him the painting I now have. I have also tried to get some kind of value and I gave gotten a wide range. From $800 all to way to $15000.00. I guess no one really knows the value. If any one knows someone in the know please let me know... thanks

JR Willis
My grandfather, Fred Willis, Sr. was the brother of JR Willis. My brother has one of his paintings & my cousin has another. I have no idea of their value, to us they are family items.

J R Willis
I am the only grandson of J R Willis. His youngest child, Emily Willis Peeler (my mother), just passed away at the age of 96 on August 29, 2002. I am very interested in any information about my grandfather as I have hoped for many years to write a biography of him and have been collecting information. I would welcome any comments anyone would like to share regarding his work or any personal knowledge anyone might have regarding his life or career. Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

JR Willis
We have a Willis painting of Red Rock NM and would be interested talking to others with his work, seeing more of his work and in dating our work.
