Relatve My Grandmother Helen Leona Rubenstein Green was a cousin to both Jules and Gene Erbit. Jules wife's name was Alice. My Grandmother and Grandfather (Joseph Green - (name was changed to Green at Ellis Island)- The Green family has numerous paintings that were done by Jules. They were given to us at various times through the years as gifts. I also have a copy of a self portrait of Jules and Alice that was a gift as a Christmas card, and two Christmas cards (his charcoal drawings) signed by Jules.

davidoza@hotmail.com Jules Erbit had a brother named Gene Erbit, who painted also. They were both born in Budapest and only 5 years apart in age. They both were commissioned to create a statue together in Budapest. His Brother Gene married Olga Helena Erbit in 1940 in NYC. Gene at the time painted scenery for the theatre and Olga was a former "Rockette"! She was the end girl who would get snapped into the wings when they did a "crack the whip" formation. I have the portrait painting in oil, done by Jules of Olga in the 50's. Gene Erbit was born in 1893 and died in 1983. His medium was oil. I also have a body of his impressionist style in my collection; Along with many photos and negatives from his stint with "Photo Magazine". If you would like to see the collection of amazing creativity...let me know. I woould love for Gene to also get the regonition he so deserves in the archives. Both brothers lived in California...Jules in Carmel with his wife and Gene and Olga in Port Hueneme. In 1993, I produced a tribute to my dear friend, Olga Erbit,in Port Hueneme's Theatre by the Sea,aptly titled..."17 Times a Virgin or Rockette to the Moon" and exhibited Gene's work as well for the city. They all lived a charmed life with a creative life experience. Happy, fullfilled, and content! very rare indeed!!!
