Desert painting question Several years ago I bought a beautiful Swinnerton painting. He signed it "In a California Desert Canyon" with his name. It looks like it's not quite finished, some areas of the canvas are not painted. Wondering if anyone might be able to shed light on this piece and its value?

Gretchen Parshall Swinnerton I have in my possession a painting of Agathla’s Needle signed by G. Parshall Swinnerton. It is a credible work and the technique is reminiscent of her husband’s.
Notations on the back suggest that it had been sold through a gallery. Is it known that Mrs. Swinnerton was an accomplished artist in her own right?
She was the daughter of William Staples and Maud Parshall. Is anyone aware of a family connection with artists Dewitt Parshall and his son, Douglass Ewell Parshall?

chalk little indian girl I'm hoping the person that may now have the 10x14 chalk drawing of the little indian girl and her dog, it's one of the Canyon Kiddies. It is signed to Margo (my mother) by James Swinnerton. She sold it a few years back. I would really like to have a picture of it, as none exist in my family, and it's part of our history. As you can see by reading my other bulletin above, my Grandfather Carl Elbik and James were very good friends. My grandfather died in 1955, before I was born in 1956. and all the stories and ties are important to me. Thank-you Starry Cagle starrys_stuff@hotmail.com

J Swinnerton/Canyon Kiddies My Grandfather Carl Elbik and Mr. Swinnerton were good friends during the 30's, and 40's. They both lived in the Southern California Desert area. The two of them, and Billy Krehm would often hang out together, and sometimes paint together. They would also bet each other to paint things that were not their style. I have one such painting , of hunting dogs coming down for a drink. My grandfather won the bet. Also James drew a chalk 10x14 drawing of a little Indian girl from the canyon kiddies for my mother when she was a little girl. It was signed; To Margo From James Swinnerton, which she sould a couple of years ago.
