I have a lithograph ( I believe) of one of this mans' paints and I would not part with it for anything. It was left in my home when I bought it 40 years ago and it has hung in my entry and now in my living room. It has white daisies, blue and white cornflowers in a silver pitcher. This man has an awesome talent..
I purchased 6 ea. prints of Rudy Colao at a Flea market for $20 today and this is what I found out about the artist.
Rudolph Colao is known for still life paintings and for paintings of interiors. He painted prolifically from the 1950s though the 1990s. He taught at the Art Students League in New York City and in Arizona.
His original paintings have sold at auction from $600 to $30,000.
But his work has been extensively reproduced, and millions of copies of these 24" x 48" prints exist, so they are not particularly valuable. They tend to sell for about $25 to $40.
I hope this helps ya'll.

R. Colao Painting
I have an R. Colao oil on canvas painting of a church and another house located at a small harbor with one person walking in front. It was done to reflect the morning sunrise or sunsetting, so the lighting and shadows cast is very well done. I bought the piece at Southwest Gallery in Dallas 10 years ago for around $ 1,100.00. They told me Colao was an art teacher/professor at New York University some time back. The fact that he was an art teacher would explain all the still life pieces most of the people have of his work. That's all I know.
Rudy Colao still living
My mother knew Rudy Colao in NY in the 50's, and she also had a gallery later on and sold some of his work in the midwest. He is still alive apparently, his work is featured here (I have no relationship with the venue) and I would advise careful preservation of his work - he is 80 now, but still painting. I am a painter too, and I have always admired his work, though in a very different style than mine - HOLD onto those paintings! Take care of them, protect and preserve them, and pass them down to your grandkids or great grandkids! As I recall (I met him once when I was about 14 - I am 45 now) he was a very nice man.

I have an R. Colao paintingof flowers in a brass vase can anyone tell me anything about it?
I have an oil canvas signed by RColao's which es exactly like the one mentioned by "Peggy" on 3/29. I just found it in my basement. Is there any value in it? Who would "copy" and oil painting. This looks 25-40 years old, and has been in the basement for many years. I think it may have come from my mother in law's apartment when she died about 15 years ago. She was not wealthy, so I never really went through anything. So is it also an Oil copy?
I have an oil of R. Colao with grapes and a pear and a green wine flask and a silver tea kettel with handle and a knife. 28in by 22in signed R. Colao on bottom right.
I Have a R Colao picture hanging in my kitchen for as long as i can remember. It its a framed oil painting of a Brass Kettle, grapes on a plate with an orange halfway peeled in front of the kettle, there is also some sort of wooden pot/jug behind the kettle that i can't seem to figure out what it is.
behind the frame is a short paragraph by Rudolph that states information on his career.
The tittle of the peice is Arrangement in Copper.
I had the pleasure of meeting Rudy and purchasing one of his floral still lifes this weekend in Rockport, Mass. He is well thought of at the Rockport Art Association. He gave my wife and I a tour of his 1743 house/studio.Most of his paintings where still lifes with a few paintings of houses in Nantucket.
The 8x10 I bought unframed was $800.
Hope this is of interest.
I have a picture of his with golden/ginger
