Ethel Allman

HH Howe
I acquired two paintings, one a portrait of a victorian dressed young man and the other a still life of flowers both signed HHHowe. The signature matched the one on line but none of his works look like these. Anyone have any info on them??? I wondered if his grandfather might have done them. He was H Howe but wouldn't think the signature would be identical to HHHowe. Thanks. Ethel

Harry H Howe
I grew up in Ann Arbor. In 1962-1963 my parents bought me 2 artist's easels from a woman whose father(?)was elderly, bedridden and living with her/them. He had been a prolific painter of seascapes and marine paintings; they were everywhere. I often wished I knew who the artist was, and wonder if it were Harry Howe. The easels aren't for sale, and I preserved the paint he splashed onto them; it meant that much to me.

I bought an oil painting of a clipper titled "Jane of Gloucester." Signed HHHowe. Anyone have info?
