I would like to know the value of this painting is a picture of two birds on willow grass. dated and signed 1923 Don was 16 when he had painted this picture, we have had it in the family all this time. The painting is in excellent condition and same frame .

Barred Owl Series II, Plate I
Hello, I was recently given a large print of an owl. I noticed that the artist was Don Eckelberry who was prolific illustrator of birds. I am interested in the importance and value of this print, as well as some further history of the print/artist. The back is labeled (looks very old) and signed. It is in mint condition. I am not interested in selling this print. I am a wildlife rehabilitator in Florida and am often given bird prints which I adore and hang thru out my home.
I was unable to find much on Don via internet.

Eckelberry Art
I don't know much about Mr. Eckelberry's work as I was not art-oriented when I knew him. However, he originally lived in Babylon, NY. You might check with the Babylon Public Library to see if anyone there has any info about his work. I seem to remember he used to have library shows back in the 1960s and 1970s. Hope this is helpful.
