TRying to ID a Edmund Lewis Painting
I have a painting that has a sticker on the back that states Landscape by Edmund D. Lewis
Original #2519 Reading Public Museum and art. It is a picture with 2 small groups of people walking down a roadway towards the mountains. You can see the rooftops of several buildings they are heading towards. I'm trying to determine the name of this print.
Painting by D Lewis
I have a painting of Jesus on the Road to Amaeus by D Lewis. The canvas date is not very clear but it is somewhere in the 1800's. Does anyone know anything about it.
I have a painting I just inherited and in a google search it seems Edmund D. Lewis is pretty popular. Is there a place where I can get it appraised? And is there a difference between prices of oils and watercolor paintings?
I have finally identified a painting that I inherited as being by Edmund D. Lewis 1874. The painting seems to be a castle on the Rhine river. Everything I have seen about him only speaks of his American works. The oil painting is approx. 24x42 and 33x50 with the frame. Did he travel in europe during that time?
Susan: E. D. Lewis
The paintings I have seen
were signed Edmund D. Lewis.
Edmund Darch Lewis
I have a E. D. Lewis painting of 2 sail boats with a tree line in the background and 2 houses in the right background. There is something in the foreground in the water, a log or buoy maybe. Next to the signature is 1900. Can anyone tell me the location?
Edmund D. Lewis
I have watercolor coastal landscape dated 1896, signed Edmund D. Lewis. Does anyone know whether Edmund Darch Lewis signed his middle name using the initial "D." or spelled out as "Darch"?
Edmund Lewis Gouache
I have a gouache watercolor of a seashore scene with buildings on the shore that look more like mediterranean than American. One particular structure has three stories with columns spanning the height and a flat roof which gives the appearance of a temple. Does anyone know where this might be?
