3 watercolor paintings signed by Leon Moran
I was given three paintings that have Leon Morans signature. They were given to me 50 years ago. Each one is of a woman in a beautiful dress and large hat. Two are holding flowers and all three have a bouquet of flowers painted to the side of each dress. Above the signature is printed copyright and then a date. One is 1909, one looks like 1904 and the last is either 1900 or 1909. Can anyone tell me anything about them, and what the copyright means. Each painting is about 16" high and 8" across.

Did Leon Moran ever paint in ink? Also was he accustomed to signing his name twice on a painting? I have a signature on the painting then below in cursive. Could this mean he knew the person he was giving it to? My grandmother was from a well known family in Pennsylvania and was also an opera singer. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with a "Madam Butterfly" performance. please reply!
