Birney painting of man in red riding habit
Like a number of others on this discussion board, I have a Birney of a man in red hunting jacket sitting in front of a fire smoking a very long pipe. I call it "After the Hunt." It would be interesting to know how many of this type of painting Birney did.
I have a print of "It's All in the Mixing" and can't find out anything about it.Can you help?
I forgot to mention WM Verplank signature is at the top right of the painting.

old painting that might be a print by W V Birney
I have an older painting that was done W V Birney. In the bottom left corner it shows copy right 1900 and a little bit more info. There is no title on the painting but it is of three kids on a fence with a farm house in the back. It looks really dark in brown colors. How can i tell if this is a real painting or a print? it does show a small number 689 wrote in pencil on the back.
william verplank birney
I have a painting by william verplank birney. It was left in an old cottage we used to rent when I was growing up. No title, but again the red hunting jacket, sitting by a fireplace, studying a map spread at his feet. It is painted on a wooden board with 1900 stamped on the back. Original wooden frame. Just curious about price.
William Verplanck Birney
I inherited a painting by Birney from my grandmother when I was 10 years old. That was 62 years ago. It is a watercolor of an old man (could be a coachman) sitting on a bench and polishing a top hat. I've taken it to an appraisal fair but they had no idea of it's value. Wouldn't part with it but would like to know more about it.
Painting by Birney
I have a painting by Wm. Birney that I haven't been able to locate on the net. It's a scene of 5 gentlemen in red hunting coats around a table in a parlor/library looking at maps on a table. One of the gentleman is sitting on the settee smoking a pipe. The painting belonged to my grandfather and was done in 1908. Does anyone have any info on it and the name of the painting?
Wm. V. Birney

It is 3 children (2 girls 1 boy) girls have on bonnets, 1 girl has a cookie in her hand. They are hanging on a fence and in the background is a barn. I absolutly love it. Anyone have any info?

I have a drawing by Mr. Birney that has water damage. Would appreciate any advice on how to restore/repair it. It is a picture of an old gentleman cleaning a tophat while seated. It was left to me by my father who inherited it from his father.

i have a painting titled: the new arrival at the inn, dated and signed 1908 by william v birney anyone know anything about this painting?
William Verplank Birney
I found a drawing signed by him it the attic of a school house I remodeled in Stoughton, WI. in the 70's. I found it along with a railroad map of 1880 and another picture of a St Bernard on a pier with a young girl lying on the dogs legs, over looking a stormy ocean. The Birney , looks to be done in pencil too and has three young girls, with bonnets on,hanging over a split rail fence. I have had this for over 30 years. Anything to it?????
