W.E. Baum appraisal
I am looking for someone who can authenticate and/or appraise a potential W.E. Baum painting. Anyone know of any experts in the New York/Tri-state area? Thanks.
W.E. Baum and Florida
Can anyone tell me when Walter E. Baum did his painting in Florida? I understand it was in his later years...have an oil on board (appx. 24" x 32") of what looks to be a golf course setting...sand traps, greenery, gentle, rolling hills with a couple rows of trees in the foreground and background. Would like to find out some more information on it if possible. It is signed and dated 1951. Would really appreciate knowing what part of Florida he might have been in. Thanks in advance for any information.

Have 2 large framed oil paintings singed W.E.B. 1960 that were given to my grandmother by a Mr. Baum in Cincinnati. Is it possible these are works by Mr. Baum? (she had many smaller pieces but they "disappeared" after he death)
memories of watching Mr. Baum painting
Walter Emerson Baum was my mother's art teacher when she was 7-9 years old because he was a close friend of her parents.
As a result he made an exception to his usual practice and accepted a commission to paint our country house. He liked the scenery so much he painted two of them and we liked them so much we ended up buying both!
I was only 3 at the time but I can vividly remember freezing in the cold October weather, watching him paint the bright cerulean blues of the stream in front of our log cabin (the same ones seen in the Mill painting on this website). Even at this early age I must have been encultured enough to believe he was using the wrong color and I tried to tell him!!!
When we went to pick up the finished paintings at his studio in Sellersville we were on our way out the door when my brother asked, "Just what is an oil painting?" Born teacher that he was, Mr. Baum took out a scrap piece of panel and turned out a complete oil painting (about 9" x 12") in under half an hour and proceeded to frame it give it to us. All of this happened the year before he died.
I have been an art teacher for 27 years now and I love telling my kids these true stories of their "artistic great-grandfather" and showing them that little half-hour masterpiece.
Contents of the Trego Studio
We are seeking information about the paintings in the William Brooke Thomas Trego studio at the time of his death in 1909.
The contents of the Trego studio were willed to Walter Emerson Baum.
I welcome correspondence on this topic.

I had someone email me saying that they live in VA. and they purchased a painting in Alentown, PA. with the name of Baum as the painter. How can I tell if it is the work of W. E. Baum?
about walter baum
bro walter baum rocks dude!!
This is just to further point out that I am not trying to raise money to restore my own house where Baum was born. I want to raise money for David Baum, Walter's grandson, to restore his home where Walter & Flora spent most of their lives. That is what I am referring to as the Baum estate.
I live in Sellersville in the home where Walter Baum was born. I am 1.5 blocks from the home his grandson David owns and where Baum spent the majority of his life. Anyone interested in having their Baum paintings/works certified and added to an updated catalog thats sole purpose would be to raise money to have the Baum estate painted and waterproofed from further decay.........please email and I will give you more details.......
1936 portrait painting
I am searching for a painting Mr. Baum produced in the year 1936. The subject was an 8 year old girl with brown hair. The painting is unusual in that the subject was a person. The painting was done in his studio.
