Rungius original
Like to have some info on the value of an original signed pencil art given to my great grandfather. The art is of a moose.
My great grandfather guided Carl during moose season on the Miramichi in New Brunswick. As a result my grandfather was named Carl after Mr. Rungius and hence my father Carl.
Would appreciate any info.

stolen Rungius
A Carl Rungius painting was stolen from a Greenwich, Ct. home on 7/27/99. It's title is " Gazelles On An African Veld" dated 1906 and signed in the lower right corner. Oil on canvas 171/2" X 24" w., gilt wood frame. Description: In foreground a gazelle with antlers, facing forward on a wheat colored field with 1 or two other gazelles in the backround with trees. Any info is welcome.

Rungius anecdote
Can anyone confirm a report that Carl Rungius suffered a broken leg during a wilderness trip in Wyoming?

Exhibit
There is a nice exhibit of Carl Rungius' work at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, Canada, June 10 to November 5, 2000. My husband and I visited this museum while on vacation. You can learn more about the exhibit and the Glenbow museum at their website www.glenbow.org
