Signatures I have three small oil painitngs by Harry Chase which were given to me by my father, who purchased them at a Curran Miller auction in 1974. He said that the paintings were stenciled on the back of the canvas "Harry Chase" but that the person doing the framing glued cardboard to the back of the canvases without his knowledge. So my question is how would this affect the value of the art? Is there a way to safely removed the cardboard that was glued to the canvas and would that be worth pursuing?

Harry Chase I own a smaller oil by Harry Chase, a coastal scene with one sailing vessel and a jetty. I have read that he was committed to an asylum in Tennessee where he died. Does Mr. Kyes' family know more about this ??

a work by Harry Chase Harry Chase was my grandmother's uncle. Her name was Lyna Chase Souther. My mother received a piece of art by him for a wedding present. It is not an oil painting but I think it is an etching. I have found nothing but oil paintings by Harry Chase on AskArt. Does anyone know of any etchings by Harry? It is picture of a sailing ship. It is beautiful but dark as he is known for. It is small, about 6 X 8 inches.
