Thanks either way, Bill
I have begun the process of redecorating my sunroom and decided to try and look up the value of Rainbow Arch by Raymond Page. I purchased this piece from Atlas Galleries in Chicago in the early '90s and had no idea that Page had passed on. I'm guessing now that my best bet is to call Atlas. Do any of you have knowledge of this painting? Thanks.
Raymon Page - Mystical Sea Lithography Value

The Bert Reynolds painting
I don't even know the name of it, but I own a copy of it, which I bought directly from Raymond in 1979, when I used to bowl with him and his wife in Orange County, CA. It is signed (personalized), on the back of the frame and is dated "1979," and was framed by the artist. If anyone wants a photo of it, just email me and I'll try to get a decent shot of it. On the back, it also says "600-184." I certainly agree with Mr./Ms. Mazzarisi that Raymond's work deserves to be much more widely known than it is. As far as any bio, I do recall reading at one time that he was "one of the top three seascape/landscape artists" of our time.

Raymond Page Knowledge Search
I believe Raymond Page came to fame when he first sold one of his painting to Bert Raynolds. But this not why I'm blown away by how many art gallerries have no clue who Raymond Page was. Raymond Page mastered the art and scince of glazing. His approach of capturing the power and tintillating beauty of nature is reminiscent of the old masters. The quality of the colors, varnish and other mediums he cleverly used in reflecting and refracting artificial and natural light is intriguing to me. If any one has any info on this, or the name of a book where he shared this knowledge I would really appreciate it. Raymond Page shows us how beautifully misterious and dynamic this planet Earth is.
Has anybody bought or sold any RPs recently? May I ask what the prices were? My parents have two paintings, one with a personal note written on the back, which were last appraised in 1997 and I'm curious. Thanks alot!

We visited Mr. Page's house in LaGuna Beach California years ago and met his young son at that time. Though we live in NJ we spoke via the phone with Mr. Page and ordered a painting from him site unseen. We've never been sorry. Because of our last name he put sea gulls in one of his sea scapes for the first time and also wrote a little personal note on the rear of the painting. We have a daughter who lives in Cal. and also has a larger painting by Mr. Page. It was rumored that Barbra Strisandt also owns one of Mr. Page's paintings. Sorry but that is all the gossip we have.
I have an original oil by Raymond Page. It is a night sea-scape mountains, shore ocean, palms........ froth on the sand from the ocean

Raymond Page - Bio Information
When I purchased his painting, Seascape in Blue, 36 x 48, in 1987, I was given a brief bio by Larry LeDoux dated 1985. The gallery rep, Kajorn Howard of Images International in Honolulu also gave me a picture of her with Raymond and his wife and son. His son looked to be about 13 or so. Bio, in part, reads "Page was born of California stock in 1945 and spent his boyhood on small Southern California farms, first near Venice and later near Riverside, where his father ran aircraft reclamation businesses . . . initial formal training in art was at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles . . . he enrolled in a private studio program taught by Glenn Vilppu, a Dutch artist and Art Center professor speciaizing in classical figure painting" The rest of the article discusses his work and his views of his work, etc. When I purchased his painting, Images International was located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Honolulu. Have no idea if it's still there. Also have photographs of some of his other paintings. Had an offer to buy one of the first prints of Rainbow Arch but, foolishly, didn't do so. Hope this contributes a bit.
