Lee K Parkinson painting
I have a painting signed by Lee K Parkinson with a buck & doe in the snow in mountains with cabin and stream. Would love to know what it is called and what it might be worth. I saw it and immediately fell in love with it. It is signed and on back is a stamp that reads 011 and underneath the number are the letters XHWGON. Do you know what this means? I live in the country and love to admire God's creations and I just love this painting. I was told it may be a Home Interior print by a friend. There isn't a Home Interior sticker on the back and my other Home Interior pictures aren't stamped on the back. When I look at it at certain angles, it looks like a painting to me. Any thoughts on that? Sorry so many questions. I have really enjoyed reading the responses on the discussion board by Mr. Parkinson's family members. I was so happy to find that he was a man who was so close to God. He did such a great job of capturing the beauty of God's creation and feel great that I now have on of his works. God bless.

Need info. $
Lee K. Parkinson picture found for me to enjoy!
I was standing in the Salvation Army store today and found the print of the mountains and the rider with his pack horse. While I was looking it over a couple came by and she ran over to me and said, "This is Lee K. Parkinson work and this picture I sold lots of them when I was doing Home Interiors and it is worth far more than the price tag of $7.99" Well I knew the beautiful steps frame of wood or the mat with cutouts alone was worth more that, so it will be hung tomorrow in the bedroom because it will go so very good with my Bev Doolittle print of horses that are hung in the other areas of our home.
The picture looked so well done I had decided to learn about the artist what I could. Thanks! To all that have shared their knowledge here!

appraising the value
I am one of Lee's daughters and wanted to suggest that you go to an art dealer for an appraisal. The c in a circle means it is copyrighted. We appreciate so much your expressions of love and admiration for Lee Parkinson. His talents with painting was endless - I absolutely treasure my originals of Dad's paintings. To preserve the oil and canvas don't let the direct sun on it because it will eventually dry it out and crack the paint. Enjoy!!!
painting real or not
How do you tell if a painting of Lee Parkinson (has a circle C and a 90 after the name) is real and of value?
Value of My Lee Parkinson's Paintings
My late husband and I LOVED his work and purchased 2 original paints in Toas, N.M. in the 1970's. One is "Going Over The Top" (20"x30"), year 1978 No.792. The second is "At Llano Quemado" oil 1975 No., 597, year 1975. My other original oils don't have "No.'s " and I'm wondering what that means? Also, does anyone know the estimated value of these paintings. They are both in excellent condition. Thanks.
what the c in the circle means
it means it is copyrighted. My Father(Lee K. Parkinson) had an ability to bring to life all of his paintings. I was privileged to sit by my father the last three(3) days of his life in the care center sketching and watched him sketch a "spanish mustang" that's what he called it..I treasure it. Thank you for all the kind comments about our Father.
Original Art from Lee
My parents purchased several paintings from him when we lived in Utah. Unfortunately, they passed away and now I have these beautiful paintings. I am seeing anyone who has a reliable appraiser or way to validate value for insurance purposes. I also inherited a good deal of other art. The Lee K Parkinsons are: Wild Flowers #292
Sunlit lake - Tetons # 157
Utah Meadows #413

Lee K. Parkinson '89
I inherited some artwork and have a picture by Lee Parkinson and am wondering if anyone knew it's name and value.
The scene is of a colonial type home with a country garden in the front with a nice rock/water garden. There are two girls holding hands and playing at the bottom right of the picture and a dog is on it's hind legs looking at the girls. The size is approx. 18 by 24 inches.
I see someone has already posted this entry in 2008 but I too am interested in this piece. I have fallen in love with this piece and can not part with it!

a magazine where i saw a painting of a bear on a river with a fish on its mouth, i bought it and love it and would like to Know more about it awesome!
Talk about a great artist!
I barely knew him in 1971. Was, am, always will be in awe of his work. I used to buy his glaze mix medium. I think my mentor Morrell Weaver knew him far better than I. We painted in Roy Utah. I know he was a kind man. Ever helpful, always nice. Sad to hear he is no
longer with us. He was amazing and the world is surely a lessor of a place without him in it. He was an inspiration and I have painted professionally for over thirty years largely in part because of what I saw him do. God bless him.

I too have a framed Parkinson painting (or copy) of a winter scene - snowy spruce trees, barn, and house. A 2 horse driven sleigh just past the farm. Fence along road. It is framed by an old frame, beautiful, and in perfect condition. It was in a yard sale. Would like to get information on this painting. It is surely a copy of his original.

Lee K. Parkinson
I had the privilege of having 2 one week classes with Lee in San Antonio Texas. We all painted from 8in the morning till 8 or 9 at night. It was wonderful. Having moved several times I lost track of everyone and just now discovered this web site and news of his passing. It saddens me so even though it has been awhile. I have all the paintings I started with Lee as my teacher and I will never let them go. I am interested in finding any of his beautiful work.
My first workshop experience was with Mr. Parkinson in Milford, UT about 1973. I was a beginning artist & I learned more from him in 3 or 4 days than I have learned since. He was so encouraging to me & I have always measured my work by what I remember of his. Have taken other great workshops since but none can compare to his.
Painting of the Grand Tetons
I vacationed in Grand Teton NP in the 1970's. After spending two weeks looking at and enjoying those beautiful mountains, I saw a painting of them by Lee Parkinson. I fell in love with it and bought it to bring to my home. I still have his picture in my livingroom and enjoy it every day. I consider it a masterpiece.
My Father-Lee K. Parkinson
My father was a man of incredible passion for nature and the beauty that was created through the hands of God. He was humble and grateful for the god-given talents and abilities he had been blessed. He is missed so deeply and I appreciate reading all these wonderful comments.
I am Lee Parkinson's daughter. Rob Hilton just told me about this site and I was thrilled to read all the comments about my father's paintings. I will try to answer some of your questions. To Palmira, the inspiration for your painting came from Lee's granddaughters playing in their grandmothers garden. My Mother always had beautiful gardens and all the grandchildren loved to be with her as she worked in them. There was always a story behind my Father's paintings. The value of his paintings depended on the size. I will contact my sister who may be able to help with these questions. I am so grateful to know my Father has been remebered through his paintings. Thank you for all of your questions.
Lee painted my Heart
I was born In OK, started school in Utah, lived in CO, Texas, and most of my life here in the place I call home, Missouri. My dad was one of the last cowboys, after all my American grandfathers. When I look at Lee's paintings they take me to every home I've ever known. But my favorite is the one in my bedroom. It isn't a western. It is a painting of a small green house with white porch. In the front yard are Azaleas, at each corner, yellow flowers lining the porch, and a row of Pink Dogwoods, and Elms lining the sidewalk of Small Town America. There are no people in this work except for me. This picture is the place my heart lives. God rest your soul Lee. Thank you for my home.
Lee K. Parkinson was my uncle. He was a great man. In the later years, my wife and I lived in Layton just up the street from Doris and Lee and often enjoyed viewing his paintings and watching him "go to work"...Mr. Hilton, thank you for your kind words - a great tribute coming from a student.
Parkinson, Lee K
I have a painting done by Lee K Parkinson 1947
of a stage coach robbery,
I am interested in value.
Passing of Lee K Parkinson
Mr. Parkinson passed away on December 14th, 2000. He left a wonderful legacy of paintings and prints. He was also a genuinely nice man and a great friend.
