I too have a painting of Robert Spencer
I also have the same painting signed in script by robert spencer in the right hand bottom corner. It is a picture of a house with someone walking toward the door in a blue sweater and red skirt. The middle of the picture is a wide dirt road with a man in a hat white shirt and black pants at the bend in the road. To the right of him is a bridge with three birch trees in the foreground. Can anyone tell me its value? Thanks in Advance!
Robert Spencer's "Roadside Dwelling"
I have an oil painting, 22" X 28", of "Roadside Dwelling" by Robert Spencer that I picked up at a yard sale. This is an oil painting, a bit "beat up," but definitely an oil painting. The painting is signed with RObert Spencer. I have a few questions:
1. How is it I have an oil painting, as opposed to a litho/print? Were reproductions made? With the Spencer signature?
2. The signature on the painting and the lithos I have seen does not match any of the signature examples for Robert Spencer on this site - the signature on this work is in cursive. Why is that?
3. Where is the original of this work?
Thank you - Mark Johnson
