HY Dyana, Your dad and i were buddies in Peachland in the 60's. Although we had e mail contact about 18 months ago, we both have lost our respective addresses. I recently got a request from him via a society listing that he must have googled about a year ago. So when you get this would you please pass along my email address to him. thank - you firstname.lastname@example.org
Another Artist that signs Lyon
I have ran into a couple of paintings that have been signed with LYON that are not my fathers. I will be more than happy to share the difference between this artist and my dad.....One difference is the colors he used in the 1970's which was what my dad called the Grey era...They are mostly old barns and landscapes and the skies are grey....Later in the early 80's he started do westerns and adding more color. Ive also ran into where the signatures are close but minor details tell the difference...Thank you
Tracing Lyon family
I'd really appreciate a response. I've just started tracing my father's family tree and found a great-grandfather named Lloyd Lyon, who had a son named Harry, and wondered if you this Harold Lloyd Lyon might be related. They were originally from Illinois. Thanks!
Ive been asked by my parents when sending information on paintings. Please have a photo of the said art along with the name and size. This will make the process quicker. Thank you

I have two paintings signed by Lyon - one is roses the other tiger lilies - about 12 X 24 long plus frame - Mr. Lyon painted them while in Banff (approx 1976) and shipped them to us as we were on vacation. One has a pencilled outline as he painted them for us. They have always been in our living room and we really enjoy them. Pat Candaele
An adjusted update from my last posting on the discussion board. If anyone has art work of my fathers that needs an evaluation of pricing or any questions. I will be more than happy to respond to your questions. And will have an answer by that same day or the next.
Thank you for your interests and appreciation of his art.
Update to know where he is
If you guys want to know about Harold Lyon. The man is still alive. How do I know this? Im his daughter. He is still living in Arizona and has decided to stop painting. For reasons of his own stature. But he does have a website. He will be more than willing to have people contact him, to inquire about the paintings he has left. For, the man is going to be 78yrs old and wants to live life as quietly as possible.
Harold Lyon - Info
For Grant Weyenberg: As of approximately 10 years ago, Harold Lyon had an Art Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ. His wife Katherine took care of the business and he painted full time. I do not know if the gallery exists at this point in time. If not, maybe some of the other galleries on Main Street, might be able to help you with your mission, or at least point you in the right direction. I have been gone from AZ for 10 yrs. now and no longer know the names of any appraisers. I do own one of his books, the title is: "Creating Illusions." Further, to the best of my knowledge, his paintings are indeed valuable. He is/was a prolific talented artist. I sincerely hope this points you in the right direction. Sincerely, Lois K.
