Hi Susan, I saw your post about your grandfather being in Cugat's band. My helf-brother's dad was also in that band and we're trying to find any documents with the band members names on it, photos, anything like that. Do you have anything like that? And what was the nickname Cugat gave your grandfather? Thanks.

I HAVE TWO PAINTINGS BY XAVIER CUGAT...8 X 10'S....SIGNED ON THE BACK BY HIM....THEY ARE OF A NUN AND A PRIEST (EGG SHAPED)WOULD LIKE THEIR HISTORY...???? THEY ARE BLACK & WHITE WITH A TOUCH OF YELLOW AND RED.

I have an original oil, which I believe is one of three look-a- like paintings, but different themes. There is the circus, the bicycles and I have the funeral procession. The colors for the ground and sky and the size of paintings are the same.

I have a small collection of Xavier Cugat paintings that were executed at the Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami in the 70s. Subject matter incl. Baseball, Dentist (noted fear of), Henry Kissinger, Richard Nixon, Chain Gang Band, Latin inspired young male with guitar, young Latin couple and Schoolyard kids with nun reading Playboy.

I have the AP of Dinner at Melvyn's but I can not find any info on it. I would like to find out the value and the accurate names of the stars in it. Two Clowns
I do not have an oil. What I have is a reproduction in its original frame. The back has a label with Mr.X.C.'s picture and an explaination of said art,when, why, also, "This is an exclusive General Electric Company Celebraty Art Repo., talks about the frame,etc." I would like info on this. Excellent condition except the backing is flaking from age. Thank you.

You Bet your A[*][*] signed painting
Depicts the rear of a burro and two fellows leaning over his rump. Village in the back ground. VERY colorful. Curious as to value, date painted ...any information.
Found at an estate sale. Framed, signed 24x30 painted on board with label on back that has the artists name and title and the No. 28747. Thanks.

I have 2 original signed Cugat oil paintings. They are 8"x10" and appear to be a set. Only 1 is numbered - 1721 and is titled "virtuos virtuoso". Any info would be appreciatd.

Xavier Cugat Paintings
I have a collection of 22 paintings by Mr. Cugat. The original two were handed down from my great aunt who purchased them following a show in the late '60s. After receiving those paintings I became interested in his work and purchased the others. Unfortunately, I have found that Cugat's work usually does not fetch a large price (most I have were purchased at auctions). I have paid anywhere from $25 to $1200 depending on the size a rarity of the piece.
