J Carlson
I picked up an old painting at a sale in Iowa. It may be in it's original frame and may be painted on masonite or something like that. It's a nature scene without snow. It features a canoe on a creek or river bank in the woods. It is not signed, but has a name on the back the letters are about 2 inches tall and reads J Carlson. Maybe done in ink. At first I thought it was the name of the owner of the painting. Could it be the artist John Carlson? Please E-mail me. I'll send pictures.

Carlson oil

We purchased, at auction in 1973, 29 1/2" x 30"
"Through Silent Groves" by Carlson, authenticated it in 1986 at Sotheby's, and now wonder if we should keep it or sell.

Artist's signiture
We recently aquired an oil painting, that carries the intials JFC. It is a small painting. 8.5"x5 1/2". We believe it is a John F. Carlson original. Did he ever just sign a piece with his initials? Can anyone help us? Quentin
