ted kautzky painting?
I found a painting or print of a church in the center of a small village with a lady and child on street. How can I tell if this is original. I haven't found a description of this picture online. It is signed. Thank you.
I have a watercolor by Ted Kautzky. The picture is of a barn in the lower right with hills behind. There is a road to the left of barn that leads to three farm houses. One may be a church. I'd love to know the name of this piece and possibly a value.

I helped a lady move last summer and she gave me a box labeled teddys art supplys. in it was pictures and sketches from early work he had done for companys his art bag and a bunch of signed stuff he did. this lady was married to teds nephew. are there any collectors out there that would want his personal effects
I found 3 paintings/prints signed by Ted Kautzky at a secondhand store in old glass and metal frames dating from I would guess the 50's or 60's. I want to reframe them but they are an awkward 12.5X14in. If they are prints I'm considering cutting them to fit an 11X14, but I don't want to ruin them in they are original. How can I tell? What are the differences between prints and originals for watercolor? Thanks!
Kautzky reproduction and Wyeth reproduction
In my father's closet I found 2 reproductions by Ketterlinus, one of Theodore Kautzky's Quiet Inlet and the other of Andrew Wyeth's Marshall Point Light, Maine. Can anyone give me an idea of what either of them are worth? Thanks in advance for any help!
I recently acquired a Ted Kautzky reproduction in a dirty old frame. I love the print and wanted to have it reframed with acid free cardboard and matting. When I removed the old mat there is an inscription saying, "reproduction by Ketterline". Any sense of value to help me determine how much I spend on framing and matting?
I also have acquired a painting by Ted Kautky titled "Colorado Rockies". It also states "painted for John Morrell & Co". No indication of being a lithograph.Appears to be watercolor on paper(?). Any info?
Ted Kautzky lithographs - 1952
We just found 5 Ted Kautzky lithographs in our basement. They were purchased from the Ketterlinus Lithographic Manufacturing Company, Primos, PA in 1952. In the lower left corner of each lithograph it mentions that it was painted for John Morrell.
Is there any value?
Ted Kautzky painting
My friend has a Kautzky painting called Torin Lake or Lake of Torin. It's lovely and she would like to know what it might be worth.
Ted Kautzky Watercolor
I recently purchased a house and among other paintings found in the basement was what looks like an original Ted Kautzky watercolor of a ship in a harbor. In looking up his name I found this site.
Someone previously mentioned a collection of Kautzky art owned by IBM. The previous homeowner was a longtime employee of IBM. I'm not sure if that means anything or not.
I would love to know if what I have is an original and any other information that can be offered. I can take photos and send to anyone willing to take a look.
This weekend, I found a very dirty, framed reprint of "Lengthening Shadows" in a pile of garage stuff my neighbor was going to throw out. Was immediately attracted to this painting. Cleaned it up. Love it. Great to find information about the artist!

Hello-My mom has had a painting my TK hanging on her living room wall since I was young, 1960's. Can't find a title, but it's of what appears to be an older boy (man..) and a little boy with fishing poles on their shoulders walking down a country/dirt road. Would anyone know where I might find info on this? Thanks in advance.

Real or copy?
In a flea market I buy two paintings signed Ted Kautzky title COUNTRY HOLIDAY OCTOBER SUNSHINE and a dimension of 13" X 16" as I am ignorant in this area I would like to know who to address whether they are real or copies of the artist. Thank you
Schooner in Harbor
I sent this message to the three people on this list who believe they own the original, but one of the emails (to Cathy Okulitch) was returned--so I just thought I would post it here as well.
This must have been a very good print ... because all three of you believe that you own the original copy of this painting.
My mother and father bought 4 Ted-Kautzky paintings (two full sheet and two half sheet) at Grand Central Art Galleries in the 1950s. A friend of theirs named Ed Swan purchased Schooner in Harbor from the same gallery at approximately the same time.
We were just looking at an image of the painting in Ways with Watercolor, by Ted Kautzky. There's a paragraph there about the painting that I could retype for you if you don't have access to this book.
My mother and father visited Ed Swan at his home shortly after he purchased the painting. In Mom's opinion, this is one of Ted Kautzky's best paintings with glistening on the water. He showed them the unframed painting, and they were all intrigued that there was an unsuccessful start on the back.
So if your painting doesn't have that on the back, then it must be a print. This is all I can tell you. I have no idea about the value of the painting. And my mother has lost touch with Ed Swan--so we don't know what ever became of him and his wife and the painting. It's quite possible that one of you is holding the original. Also, according to Ways with Watercolor, the size of the original painting is 22" by 30".
Reproduction by Ketterlinus
I had emailed last year about the stagecoach series by Henderson of which I have a reproduction by Ketterlinus. In trying to reseach the time period for manufacturing his reproductions, I have come up empty handed. Can you lend any insight into the subject matter? Although in good condidtion, they appear very old.

Ted Kautzky Painting of fishing vessel at East Gloucester Wharf
My Wife, Anne Hall, won this painting at the 1948(47) 4th of July Celebration in Rockport, MA.
Ted Kautzky donated this painting to the sponsors of this 1948(47) celebration on the 4th of July.
Am open to conversations pertaining to this painting.
I have a Reproduction by Ketterlinus, Water Color by Theodore Kautzky A.N.A

Landscape Prints of Kautzky's Work
I have just acquired what appear to be two REPRODUCTIONS of Ted Kautzky's works "Winter in New England" & "Country Holiday." I say reproductions because it looks like they have tiny stamps on the prints (on the left bottom side) that say C.C.F.A. Inc., and on the back it has a sticker from: Anderson Artist Supply 80 N. Ionia Ave. Grand Rapids, MI followed below this with a white sticker/label that has the name of the works in black script lettering. Can anyone tell me when these were done, by whom, how many might have been printed, and where the originals might be?!? (These painting/prints are about 12" x 16") They are quite nice, and I think I will give them to my friend to hang in his restaurant! (I've donated other artworks to him in the past, and I like to try to be a little knowledgable when I present paintings to people.) Thank you very much for your time and assistance into my queries.
A Collection of Harbor Paintings by Theordore Kautzky
When I was a student at the University of Illinois (1962 - 1967), I saw a collection of Harbor Scenes by Theodore Kautzky displayed at the student union in Urbana. I remember that the collection was owned by IBM. I remember the pictures as being all black and white. I'm thinking they must have been paintings rather than sketches because I can't imagine sketches being so luminous. Does anyone have any idea what collection I saw or how I might find out where the collection is today?
I, too, came across a watercolor reproduction of "Three Mallards" by Mason. It reproduction by Ketterlinus at the bottom. Any info would be great! Thanks!
Roy Martell Mason print
I came across a Roy Martell Mason print that states "Reproduced by Ketterlinus". It's a duck hunting scene. What is the likely year of production? Do you know if it is collectible? I will keep it and hang it in my den. Thanks for your help.
I found a framed print of his "Quiet Inlet" that says "Reproduction by Ketterlinus" in small letters at the bottom. I'm not familiar with his work, so wanted to know if anyone could give me any information. it's a lovely print, and regardless of value i'm going to hang it in my den, i just want a bit of info about this particular print.
Theodore (ted) Kautzky
As noticed from Sheryl R, posted 5/19/06; I also found an original sketch signed T Kautzky, only in pencil about 2000 in a Wallace Idaho collectable shop. I have always cherished his work, and would like to comment that his pencil sketches were every bit as accomplished as his watercolors.
Just purchased a beautiful watercolor 13"x18",w/prof. mat & frame. Title"Quiet Inlet", signed "Ted Kautzky" lower right. Affixed to the back is the title w/a bio of the artist, which looks like it was taken from a book. It appears to show some age. Circa 1940's maybe. Any info or advise would be appreciated.
Ted Kautzky "SCHOONER IN THE HARBOR"
I aam looking for info on what I believe to be a Kautzky original. However I do not know for sure. Measures approximately 13 x 16. Water color? Any info will be apprieciated. Advise accepted. Framed in old frame.
Original Watercolor by Ted Kautsky
I have a watercolor of a farmhouse road. It is stamped watercolor by Theodore Kautzky A.N.A. and signed Ted Kautzy. Does anyone know about this painting?
I have a Ted Kautzky called Village Street, Catalda Fine Arts, signed, Numbered '941'. It is a residential lane, with three houses, trees, a mother and child walking down sidewalk. Is it worth anything?
I have recently come across a painting by Ted Kautzky entitled "Hilltop Haven" I'm wondering if anyone has information concerning the value of the painting. It was purchased at the Haley and Steele gallery on Newbury St. in Boston. I don't know when though.
Watercolor/Print Rockport Harbor
I found what appears to be a 32"x 32" framed color print/watercolor signed by Ted Kautsky. The subject is a harbor view across Rockport Harbor. Is it possible that this is an original watercolor or is it a nice print of the watercolor? It is framed nicely and appears to be circa 1960 or earlier.
Does this object have any value???? It is in great shape. No water stains, etc. ... Your comments would be greatly appreciated...
I bought one of Kautzky's framed prints and just wanted to find out more about the print and what it might be worth. It is a scene of a house on a lane. It's fall, and the colors are yellow's and brown's. If anyone has any info for me please email me. Thank you
