B. Pothast print I believe I have a Pothast print although not signed. The picture is in Pothast's style and shows a woman seated at a small table and a small child looking at a baby while holding a small toy in her hand. There is a pair of wooden shoes in the lower right hand corner of the picture. Can you tell me anything about it? There is also a number on the back. GP558

Bernhard Pothast print I have a 8x12 print with a pained window on the left, some flowers on a table, a little girl standing at the table, a girl looking at a paper (or book) on the opposite side(she is sitting) and another girl standing, a woman sitting to the right is observing the children at the table. A small child's chair is to the right of the woman (empty). The print is in a gold, wood frame with a brass plate at the bottom that says "Reading Lesson" Bernhard Pothast, copyright 1933 Mead Johnson and Co. My question is when I've looked for this print a different one comes up for "the Reading Lesson". I can't seem to find this one ANYWHERE. Does anyone know the name of this print?

Bernard pothast framed painting. I have, what I believe to be an original framed painting called "Dutch Family Group". The frame isbeautiffully sculped and carved, as I have seen in other older Pothast works. The glass is poured glass wich,I believe helps date tis back to the mid 1920s or just a bit later. It has been handed down for 4 generations. Does anyone have more inf on this piece? I would appreciate any response. Thank You Jim

Pothast print I recently purchased, from an estate sale, a signed print in frame with a small copyright in the right lower corner. I have searched the web for a simular painting and I cannot find one like it or even the name of the painting itself. The subject matter is of a little girl standing on the left admiring a baby in a cradle, the mother is seated on the right holding what looks to be a small garment, maybe mending. Behind the mother is a chest of drawers and in front of the chest of drawers is a childs chair. The baby's arms are reaching up towards her sister and her eyes are wide open. I would like to know the name of this print and its value. Any information would greately be appreciated. Thank you for your help!

Bernard Pothast, "The First Fitting" My husband and I purchased this picture from an estate sale. It has a huge ornate gold frame around the picture with his signature at the bottom. There is no print number on it and we are not sure if it is original or not. How would we be able to tell? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Search for painting's name I saw a Pothast showing a woman sitting, sewing. To her right a 3-4 year old child sits, also sewing. Standing watching both of them is an older child, maby 5 or 6. What is the name of this painting, and is a print available?

Her First Lesson? We have a print(?) titled "Her First Lesson" but I have not been able to find any info about this Pothast work. Does anyone know anything about it and where the original is housed?
My mother bought this at a garage sale and the woman who sold it said she had received it as a wedding gift many years ago.
It is framed and at the bottom under the image in the white border it says:
Le Coup d'Essai - Der Erste Versuch Il Primo Tentativo - El Primer Intento (oil on canvas, 25 3/4" X 29 3/4", undated)
Collection of the Fort Worth Art Association, Fort Worth, Texas
I appreciate any feedback! Thank you!
