New survey of RSG's Etchings
For those interested, the New Bedford Whaling Museum (NBWM)(previously the Old Dartmouth Historical Society) in New Bedford, MA, has recently published my research that catalogues and describes in detail the 80 known etchings made by RSG between 1865 and 1891. The book, R. SWAIN GIFFORD, A CATALOGUE OF ETCHINGS, (publsihed 2002)also provides a biography and timeline of RSG's movements, and compares works in media other than etching. Book currently available through NBWM bookstore/giftshop.
