Gail, This William H Coffin is not closely related to Sarah T. Coffin. The William H Coffin she married was born in 1838 and lived in New York, NJ, and Boston. This WH Coffin is my g-g grandfather and Sarah was his second wife. I have two pieces of her artwork.

Col.William H. Coffin. retired 1/23/1843
My 93 year old aunt has an elaborate (Sheffield?)silver sculpture given to Wm.H. Coffin by the P.R.R. upon his retirement Jan/23/1843. Faith, Hope and Chairity, grape leave bowl on top, lengthy insription. She has been as trying to obtain more info from the Nantucket historical association for many years. A Coffin in Bestheda said it was listed in their files, and my aunt is still trying to establish this. Any mor info? Thanks, Gail Roberts
