pastel portrait of my mother (1925)
I have recently come into the posession of a 1925 portrait of my mother done in 1925 by Edith Widing Yaffee. It is one of a pair which my grand father had commissioned. The other is of my uncle and was done in 1929. My uncle has his portrait. They are both pastel and a very wonderful. I was hoping to find out more about this artist. Would she have been in Manhattan during the 1920s? That is where my mother's family lived and worked. The portrait is in its original frame and has a sticker from a Madison Ave. gallery on the back. Any information would be gratefully apreciated.
