There is a brief biography about Vern Yadon on the web, I am in possession of two of his watercolors framed in a blonde frame of owls sitting on branches, the pictures do grow on you.

I was lucky to find one of his water colors of owls at a thrift store for $5.99.
A native Californian, Vern Yadon is a biologist by profession and has had a distinguished career as Director, and is now Director and Curator Emeritus of the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History. His love and intimate knowledge of natural history predominates in his work, giving rise to paintings of birds and animals that are a sensitive blend of reality and poetics.
Essentially self-taught, Yadon chooses watercolor as his means of aesthetic expression because he feels that the fluid qualities of the medium best express the subtle color and textural variations of his chosen subjects.
His work has been selected in local competitive exhibitions and he was the recipient of the First Purchase Prize of the Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art. His work is in private collections throughout the United States.
He is a Life Member of the Carmel Art Association.

I have recently purchased a water colour by this artist of birds sitting in some bushes. It is in a frame of 12 x 16. i haven't taken it out of the frame but can tell it is an original.Are his works sort after? We adore it and have it hanging in our dining room.

This is to Adrienne: I too, purchased a Vern Yadon watercolor depicting the gold finches eating on a thistle bush or bushes. It's a 12 x 16 and I did take it out of the frame. It appears to be on original water color paper. Last year I also purchased a larger picture that is similar but has several different birds in it. It is framed and matted so beautifully that I have it hanging as is. Both purchases were made at garage sales and as a bird lover, I fell in love with these two pictures. I was just curious about the artist but so far, have found out nothing other than his birth date. I too, (like Adrienne) am seeking information about Vern Yadon.
