EA Print I recently purchased a very large print of a vintage school room scene of teachers helping their students get ready for some sort of Thanksgiving or pilgrim themed event. It has a signature in the corner of an E overlapping an A, as in "EA". I was hoping someone could tell me who this artist might be or possibly the name of the print.

Homestead on Wiley St. by Titus I have a sepia photo of a Titus painting of a barn and house with a wetland foreground. The house is on Wiley St. in Wakefield, MA and was built in 1765. It was owned originally by Dr, Ernest Tyzzer, later by Martin Cunningham and then his son Cyrus. I am Cyrus's daughter and grew up in the house. We once owned the painting but no longer and I am wondering if anyone reading this knows of it's whereabouts. I am not entirely sure the artist's first name is Earle but it seems likely.

Earle Titus-my father's cousin Earle was my father's cousin. My father was Max G.Haley. I own two paintings of Earle's, one being a wedding gift to me. My dad and Earle hunted deer together and my Dad's nickname was "Sureshot" and Earle's was "Old Facedown". He was a shy, lovely man. He painted with Lee Court and Aldro Hibbard. I was privileged to know him. Ginny

Book Illustrator I was just going through books in my basement and found a book called "Echoes From The Green Hills" by Myrtie Anna Aldrich. I was trying to find out about the author and saw that the illustrations are by Earl Allen Titus. Is this the artist you are discussing. If so, he would have done these drawings about the age of 25 because the book was published in 1922. The drawings are of Burke Mountain and Lake Willoughby. Was he a friend of Myrtie Anna Aldrich? Myrtie was a blind woman who wrote poetry during her lifetime.

Earl's neighbor I lived across the street from Earl & Dodie. We have 3 of Earl's paintings. One is a large sea scape that was given to my parents for thier anniversary as a surprise. The other is a painting of the dirt road that was down back of our family land that the horses would go on. The other paint was one Earl wasn't happy with but my mother liked so he said take it!. He made all his frames. Our family was luckly in the fact when any of my cousins or my sister & brothers got married Earl gave them a painting for a wedding gift. On the property Earl had a big old barn like you see in the movies where he kept a lot of his supplies. Some times he would sit across the street on my uncles front yard & paint the barn. He loved to go to Maine & paint seascapes. He was a favorate of all the people on Montrose Ave. & was greatly missed. When Dodie moved to Georgetown to live with her daughter the house & land where sold. The barn was torn down (it was a sad day for me as my aunts & I watched it go) & three houses were built. One one the land that Earl had his beautiful garden & the other two on the site of the barn. The house is now a two family. It always had two kitchens & Dodie would keep stuff in there so all of kids could play when our mothers had tea at Dodie's. Hi Nancy & Janie! Does anyone know where Robert is?

Titus home on Montrose Avenue I was also a neighbor of Dodie and Earl Titus, as my sister, Jane Strang, has mentioned. She used to babysit for us and we would play penny ante poker! I wondered what happened to the big beautiful house on Montrose Avenue.

Eerl Titus Paintings I grew up in Wakefield MA. and was a neighbor of Earl and Dodie Titus. My Parents were Harry(Buddy) and Daisy DuLong and I remember the Titus' well. They had a big house with a wrap around porch on Montrose Ave. I have a seascape painting done by Mr Titus that was painted for my parents. This is a thrill for me to find this site!

Earl Titus, painter Earl Titus was my grandfather. His only son Robert Titus is my father. Though he died before I was born, I grew up surrounded by his paintings. I in turn went to art school myself, inheriting his paintbox. I am a professional artist, and I still use some of his brushes. He was by all accounts an amazing man. His landscapes are accomplished by any measure- sensitive, well crafted, and well composed. He painted specific places, on site/ plein aire, so they retain a vividness some artists of the genre lack. The bio provided on this site is helpful. He was apparently skilled as an outdoorsman, athlete, and musician, and well loved by many. He was a big, powerful man, over 6 feet and 300 pounds, but my father says he was gentle giant, soft spoken and kind. I wish I had known him myself.
