Bob - I am curious about the pastel you have of your daughter. I believe I have a pastel portrait of a family friend done by Tom but I would love to see another portrait of his done in pastels. I can't find too much information on him and all I can find are watercolors

I knew Tom Lane
Hi, Tom and I met in Sarasota Florida at a Bar. I was dealing in Art at the time and Toms work interested me. I took him to our home and he lived with us most of a year. He did a Pastel of my Daughter.
I found him a place for him to work and do Portrates of Customers. He also got work doing Sea Scapes for people of Sarasota. He left Sarasota and went back to the French Quarter, Few years latter I went to the Quarter and found Tom working near the old Church and he had his Paintings hung on the fense and I bought two of them. I still have them. So glad to find info about Tom.He was a great fellow to have known for such a short time.
Peace and Blessings
Bob

My grantmother recently passed away and she collected all kinds of French Quarter Art.

Some of her original paintings are by Tom Lane. Who is he? I can't find anything about him online.
