Book on Acee Blue Eagle There is a book entitled "Lumhee Holot-Tee, The Art and Life of Acee Blue Eagle" by Tamara Liegerot Elder, published in 2006 by Medicine Wheel Press in Edmond, OK. I read the stories posted here and have a similar story of his generousity in giving a painting to a friend. I had my painting appraised by a lady at the National Cowboy and Western Museum in Oklahoma, but I think any good Native American Museum would refer to an appraiser.

Female with papoose My grandmother had a painting by Acee Blue Eagle for many years. She told me I could have this painting. When she died, the painting was missing from her room. The painting depicts a female Indian holding a papoose in front of her. I have some envelopes with a reproduction of the painting and a bit of information about it. I am looking to have this painting returned to me.

Acee Blue Eagle I have a painting of an indian/chief/dancer(?) that was painted for my grandmother when he and she dated before she married my grandfather. It is very colorful and beautiful. He signed it "Lum hee Ho la tee" and is undated. But I am sure it had to be in the 30's or 40's. He called her "Cacha Gee" I am unsure of the spelling of this. If anyone could tell me what this means I would be very grateful.

Acee Blue Eagle For over 50 years I have owned a small tempera given to me by the artist when I lived in Chicago. I was introduced to him by a man named Glen Shears who took me to his apartment, I believe it was on Lake Shore Drive. Blue Eagle autographed the charming piece for me when I admired several paintings he was working on. It has never been displayed and I believe is unknown to the art community: a running deer circa 1948.
