Halsall and Fresco Painting
Halsall arrived in Boston in 1859 and began studying with Norton in 1960...this according to a Boston Globe interview with the artist in 1891. In1865 WFH studies fresco painting and drawing at the Lowell Institute of Boston(run at the time by by MIT.
I have been researching Halsall for a year and a half, and have found no references to any actual frescos done by him. I'd be interested to know what your letters refer to...as by 1889 Halsall was an important Boston marine artist.

fresco painting
I have letters dated 1889 which refer to an acquaintance of FN Atwood and Halsall. I see they were both fresco painters. I would like to know how you made the connection of Halsall studying under Willaim Norton and fresco painting in 1860?
The pianting styles of Halsall and Atwood are very similar.
