Easter Morn
I was discussing a painting I had called Easter Morn with my girlfriend. I decided for the first time to remove it from the wall and look at the back of it. On the back was a letter with a seal in it that spoke of the history of the painting. It was written by AF Tait (Jr I think), anyway it was his son. In the frame was also carved who it was handed to up to my grand mother who was Arthur F Taits grand daughter. The history was quite interesting and I now have an even deeper appretiation for my Great Great Grandfathers work.

Home of the Deer
My wife has a print of the Home of the Deer, but instead of A. F. Tait, the signature seems to be A. P. Taft. Have you ever heard of another artist painting the same picture?

I'm interested in researching the life and work of A.F. Tait. I was born in Scotland and have traced the Taits to the Isle of Fetlar in Shetland. By unique coincidence, I live in the Adirondacks of NYS and have a keen interest in art history.
Please identify any definitive references on A.F. life and work.

Great Grandfather
I'm the great grandson of AF Tait, a young lawyer with an office in San Diego and one on the way in New Orleans. I didn't inherit his skills in painting, but I'd like to make contacts with other people who enjoy/own original Tait paintings. Thanks!
