In 1824 Alsace was still a part of the France, it is only between 1871-1918 that this province was under german rules, so Schusselle is french born.

I HAVE A VERY LARGE PRINT OF WASHINGTON IRVING AND HIS LITERARY FRIENDS AT SUNNYSIDE. IT BELONGED TO MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER. WASHINGTON IRVING APPARENTLY WAS RELATED TO ME. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF TRACKING DOWN THE FAMILY TREE. ANY ONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PRINT?
