Young Man in a Blue Suit I wonder if anyone can help me...? I own an Alice Kent Stoddard painting called "Young Man in a Blue Suit." I would love to know who the Young Man is. Does anyone know if Ms. Stoddard had a connection to the music/jazz scene in Philadelphia in the 1940's? Thanks for any help. Best, Michael

Catalogue Raisonne Hi Craig! I haven't forgotten you...I'm still compiling the catalog of her paintings. If anyone else owns one of her paintings and would be willing to have it included in a book about her and her artwork, please contact me!

inside information When I first moved to monhegan late 60s I was asked by Alice to pose for her one summer. She was a fasinating person, who lived life to the fulest. Her stories flowed constantly the more she talked the faster she painted. A tidbit you probably wont read in her bio. is that she was a picker! She knew where all good berrypicking bushes were located and ripe for picking! Should anyone be interested in more leave a message here. Craig

Alice Kent Stoddard (Pearson) I write on behalf of "Thistle" Aurelia C. Brown, who was painted by A. K. Stoddard as a child and would so wish to be in touch with any of her relatives. We see a Todd Pearson, Jr. wrote last year.. perhaps he can reach out again. Thank You ever so much. n.

Two sisters ALice Stoddard My mother just adores the two sisters painting and has always wondered if there is any story behind the work. Could you provide any insight?

A.K. Stoddard Mr. Lowe, Alice Kent Stoddard married my grandfather, Joseph T. Pearson. She was a former student of his and became his second wife. I have several works by her. She signs her name in several fashions, including "A.K.S.", Alice K. Stoddard", and "Alice S. Pearson". Thus, there are several examples (I would be glad to take pictures of them)of her signing her name in a different manner than her full maiden name.

Alice Kent Stoddard We have a portrait of a woman in a floppy brown hat, leaning on a wooden fence, signed A. K. Stoddard, 1959. Our presumption has been that it is a work by Alice Kent Stoddard, but we have never seen a painting by this artist that wasn't signed with her full name. We would welcome comments and images of any work by this artist signed "A. K. Stoddard."
